I've been collecting pop songs about art, painters and museums for more than a decade now. They can be idiotic or clever, some are stupidly smart, but I like them all for some reason. My initial plan was to begin with a five-song release featuring stuff by Madonna, Lio, Michael Hurley and Jonathan Richman. I guess I will record some more material in the future and dump it here, turning this into a small album.
The first published track tries to resituate Cézanne within the classical canon of modern art. It's been released in 1993 by the Five Chinese Brothers, and you'll find the hilarious video that goes with it on the tube.
